2021 was definitely a year for the books! We’re already two weeks into 2022, and I can tell that this year is going to be another one to remember. At KGI Design Group, we took some time to reflect and look back on everything we did in 2021. We worked hard, and we had fun while doing it! The entire KGI team accomplished so many things last year, and I wanted to take some time to share some of our amazing projects and adventures.
Last year, we had the pleasure of designing and painting an angel wings mural for St. Catherine of Sienna Hospital in Smithtown. It was an incredible opportunity to show our support to the nurses and medical staff that have given so much to the community before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are true heroes, and we are proud to have played a part. Another highlight of last year was when our amazing CEO and leader, Kim Poulos, was officially accepted into the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program. This prestigious program is a $500 million investment to help entrepreneurs grow and create jobs and economic opportunities by providing greater access to education, financial capital, and business support services. We are all so proud of Kim for becoming a member of the 33rd Cohort of GS10KSB!
In addition to all of our hard work in 2021, we also managed to have a lot of fun along the way. It’s important to balance professionalism and fun because it creates a positive work environment and boosts team morale. Our annual summer retreat was an absolute blast! As Long Island natives, we love the beach, and we decided to plan a trip to Fire Island for a few days. It was a great trip filled with lots of laughs, food, and even a little rain, but we didn’t let that ruin our time! We also enjoyed various staff lunches to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and work achievements. One of my personal favorites was our holiday party at Trento, a modern Italian restaurant in Farmingdale. We enjoyed some delicious food and exchanged gifts before the holiday break. It was truly a wonderful way to end the year with our incredible team!
2021 was truly a memorable year. I’m so proud of my team at KGI and all of the amazing things we accomplished. I hope this inspires everyone to work hard and make time for some joyful activities in the new year. KGI is so excited to see what 2022 brings!
