Take a moment and think back to April 19, 1994 – Where were you? What were you doing? Better yet, what were we wearing?!
For me, I recall it being a beautiful sunny day. My husband and I had been married for only a few years and just had our first-born son, Nicholas. Now we were buying our first house. My dad had generously saved some money for us to use towards a down payment. I had recently left my job as an Art Director in NYC to work from home with my son. I was a full-time freelancer!
With a new home, my accountant at the time suggested that I incorporate to protect our assets. (Assets? We had those?) So, I asked our real estate attorney to help me incorporate. On the spot, he said “Give me three names,” to which I blurted out a bunch of quick ideas. A few weeks later, he told me that as of April 19, 1994, Kimberleigh Graphics Inc. was officially established as a New York S-Corp!
Fast forward to today: KGI is officially 30 years in business! It has been an incredible journey that I look forward to sharing with you throughout the year. And yes, we’ll be marking this milestone with a celebration – stay tuned for details!
I’m deeply grateful for every person I have met on this journey – clients (some of whom have been with us since Day 1), mentors, employees, partners, networks of professionals, coaches, business guides, interns, friends, family, and of course God! Many prayers have been answered, and blessings have been given.
Here’s a brief look back at our milestones:
1994: Started in our first home in Levittown!
2004: Moved and expanded the office in our Farmingdale home
2004: Created DBA – KGI Design Group
2012: Took office space in Farmingdale
2024: We made it after all!
