Last year, after an application process, I finally met the requirements and was officially accepted into the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program! This prestigious program is a $500 million investment to help entrepreneurs grow and create jobs and economic opportunities by providing greater access to education, financial capital, and business support services. The goal of this program is to come up with a growth plan, which I have implemented over the past year.
As an art school graduate who has worked as a designer for many years and started my own business, I knew I had the skills that people were looking for. Although I had clients, I didn’t really know much about business. I had never even taken a business class! This program taught me how to be small business owners, while being surrounded by 30+ other small business owners! We call ourselves “The 33” (aka the 33rd Cohort of GS10KSB). We’ve learned a lot about financials, P&L, cash flow statements, marketing HR, employee relations, processes, negotiations, and so much more.
Next week, I’m going to the 2022 10KSB Summit in Washington, D.C. More than 2,500 alumni from the program are expected to gather to celebrate and drive their resilience and economic impact, while advocating for their needs. I’ll have the chance to meet with business leaders from across all 50 states, as well as NYS Senators and Representatives to discuss small business concerns.
I highly recommend applying for the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program. It’s very beneficial when small business owners come together and help each other grow! I’m grateful for the program, as well as the community of driven business owners I’ve met.
